about Bodo Sperlein
The designer and artist Bodo Sperlein established his self-titled brand in 2000 after training at the University of the Arts, London. His early career was marked by the prestigious Sainsbury’s Scholarship and Crafts Council Grant, which laid the foundation for his creative journey. Bodo gained recognition with his home accessory collections designed for London’s iconic fashion store, Browns.
In addition to leading his studio, Bodo Sperlein served as the Creative Director for the esteemed technology brand Loewe from 2016 to 2018. His work spans various industries, including furniture, lighting, technology and fashion, reflecting his versatility and innovative spirit.
Originally from Germany, Bodo Sperlein’s design ethos is rooted in a profound appreciation for craftsmanship and a commitment to blending tradition with modernity. Sensitivity to aesthetics and unwavering dedication to quality have garnered Bodo Sperlein international acclaim. His work is frequently featured in leading design publications and showcased in galleries worldwide, such as Les Ateliers Courbet in New York, Andreas Murkudis in Berlin, and 88 Gallery in London. Bodo Sperlein's designs are also part of the permanent collections of prestigious design museums, including Die Neue Sammlung in Munich.
