LAND ROVER BORN AWARD 2017
We are excited to announce that Bodo Sperlein has been recognised as a Land Rover BORN Award winner for his groundbreaking work with Loewe. This prestigious accolade celebrates the pinnacle of lifestyle design, applauding those who push boundaries to fuse beauty and functionality.
The Land Rover BORN Awards, overseen by Land Rover's Chief Design Officer, Gerry McGovern, and BORN's founder, Jean-Christophe Chopin, spotlight visionaries who transform creative ambition into reality. Each year, these awards honour designers whose work embodies innovation, artistry, and practical excellence.
This year’s event took place in the breathtaking surroundings of Ålesund, Norway—the gateway to the iconic Geirangerfjord. Among 38 accomplished nominees, Bodo Sperlein distinguished himself as one of 12 winners for his masterful designs of the bild 9 television and klang 9 speakers for Loewe. These sculptural pieces, which seamlessly blend form and function, will be featured at the Awards Exhibition from July 17th to August 5th, attracting over 300 international journalists and design aficionados.
Reflecting on the honour, Bodo Sperlein said: “I am deeply privileged to be recognised by such an inspiring organisation that champions creative talent. BORN celebrates the essence of innovation, which resonates through every stage of my process—from the spark of inspiration to the final conversation, embodying a world of its own.”
Bodo Sperlein’s recognition at the Land Rover BORN Awards underscores the importance of daring design and a commitment to excellence that resonates in every project. This achievement not only cements his position in the design world but also showcases the enduring impact of his partnership with Loewe.
