Illuminata was an exhibition concept curated by Bodo Sperlein, as part of Fuorisalone and Milan Design Week 2023, that celebrated the merging of skilful design and exquisite craftsmanship with a deep understanding of materiality.
The exhibition transformed the Chiesa Cristiana Protestante in Milano into a spectacular display, a way of creative enlightenment through timelessly beautiful designs. Located right in the heart of Milan, between the prestigious Brera and Turati areas, this magnificent space was never previously been used for exhibition purposes during the Fuorisalone.
Bodo Sperlein took centre stage at the exhibition, premiering a variety of his latest designs. The Voliere and Osca light sculptures, the distinctive designs from the first ever collaboration between Bodo and Spanish lighting brand Lzf, and the architectural MAYU Armchair. The exhibition premiered the Beechwood Side Table and featured the Beechwood Chair, designs part of Bodo’s distinctive Contourline Collection, amongst other works, including a pink marble Round Table from the Silva Collection.
The international brands featuring alongside Bodo are - Manera Magazine, Softhouse, Lzf, Estiluz, Edelgrund, nanimarquina and Coordonné, Lobmeyr.
The Exhibition was open to visitors between the 17th and 22nd of April at the Chiesa Cristiana Protestante, Via Montebello, on the corner of Via Marco de Marchi, 20121 Milan.
