Illuminata

Illuminata, an exhibition concept conceived and curated by Bodo Sperlein for Fuorisalone and Milan Design Week 2023, celebrated the seamless fusion of design excellence and exquisite craftsmanship. It highlighted a deep appreciation for materiality, transforming the Chiesa Cristiana Protestante in Milan into an extraordinary display of creative enlightenment and timeless beauty.

Set in the heart of Milan, between the prestigious Brera and Turati areas, this historic church was used for the first time as an exhibition space during Fuorisalone. The exhibition's design was meticulously crafted to complement the church's architectural beauty, accentuating its stained glass windows and grand arches.

Bodo Sperlein took centre stage, debuting a selection of his latest designs. These included the Voliere and Osca light sculptures, created in collaboration with Spanish lighting brand Lzf, and the architectural MAYU Armchair. The exhibition also premiered the Beechwood Side Table, featured the Beechwood Chair from the Contourline Collection, and showcased a pink marble Round Table from the Silva Collection.

The exhibition also featured prestigious international brands such as Manera Magazine, Softhouse, Lzf, Estiluz, Edelgrund, nanimarquina, Coordonné, and Lobmeyr, creating a diverse and inspiring display of contemporary design.

Illuminata ran from April 17th to 22nd at the Chiesa Cristiana Protestante, Via Montebello, Milan.
