Tane: European Launch
Tane’s reintroduction to the European design scene marked a pivotal moment for the brand, blending heritage with contemporary allure. Under the creative direction of Bodo Sperlein, Tane’s archival designs inspired a refreshed silverware collection, unveiled through a series of prestigious global events. Highlights included a launch at Munich’s AD Germany event, a showcase at Maison Objet 2015, and exhibitions at Galerie du Passage in Paris.
Premier Launch in Paris
The global launch of Bodo Sperlein's silverware collection for Tane included three key events: the Maison Objet trade fair, an exhibition at Galerie du Passage, and an exclusive dinner at the Mexican Embassy in Paris.
Exhibiting at Maison Objet 2015 was crucial for re-establishing Tane's status in Europe and the global design market. Alongside this, Bodo curated a silverware exhibition at Galerie du Passage, a renowned hub for luxury interiors, offering Tane further press exposure. The series culminated in a formal dinner at the Mexican Embassy, where Tane's collection was elegantly showcased.
Launch at Neue Werkstatten
Amidst a display of Tane’s collection of antique silverware workbenches, Bodo Sperlein joined editor Oliver Jahn for a talk, enhancing Tane’s presence in the European design market. Until 2014, the prestigious brand had not been exhibited in Europe for decades and needed a refreshed direction. Bodo introduced a new creative vision, blending Tane’s heritage with modern appeal at the Munich launch event in collaboration with AD Germany. Drawing from their archives, he designed a range of silver pieces.
London Design Festival
In 2012, during the London Design Festival, the Mallett Gallery on Dover Street became the distinguished setting for an exhibition of Tane’s silverware collection. As one of London’s most renowned antique dealers—established by a jeweller and silversmith—the gallery offered a compelling juxtaposition of history and modernity, perfectly aligning with Tane’s ethos of timeless craftsmanship.
The exhibition not only captivated visitors but also commanded the spotlight in luxury media. Esteemed publications, including How to Spend It by the Financial Times and the Daily Telegraph Luxury, celebrated Tane’s artistry and vision, elevating its profile on the global design stage.
This collaboration underscored Tane’s commitment to innovation while honoring its heritage, a narrative that resonates deeply with discerning collectors and design connoisseurs alike.
