Nikko

Bodo held the role of Creative Consultant for Nikko in 2014. The Japanese fine bone china brand, founded in 1908, has a global reputation for its luxury tableware products.

Recognising their distinctive Japanese designs and exceptional material quality, Bodo designed several new ranges for Nikko to launch a fresh direction for the brand and expand their market.

After witnessing the expertise of the company’s craftsmen, whose skills have been passed down through the generations, Bodo felt that these products deserved greater global recognition. Drawing on traditional Japanese motifs whilst introducing a contemporary perspective through colour and form, Bodo’s designs fuse the Eastern and Western aesthetic.

Through European exhibitions, Nikko’s global presence was broadened as the company was exposed to prospective new audiences. With these collections now being used at a number of world renowned restaurants including YautchuaThe Montagu Arms Hotel and Hakkasan.
