Bodo Sperlein for Bocuse d'Or 2018
Bodo Sperlein has been commissioned to design a bespoke platter for the UK team, represented by chef Tom Phillips, which will be showcased at the world's most prestigious culinary competition: Bocuse d’Or 2018.
The platter acts as a display stand - tailored to each element of Tom’s menu - as it is paraded past an illustrious panel of judges. Inspired by the Welsh hills of his childhood, the tiered platter is made of polished metal and wood and is accompanied by a set of stoneware and platinum luster glaze dishes. The dishes were handmade in London using a stoneware that echoes the texture of the weathered rock found on the hills.
The platter will be exhibited on June 11th & 12th in Turin, where the competition is being held.
